Shadow Mental Health Minister Luciana Berger spoke about the challenge in changing perceptions on mental health when she addressed Leeds Jewish Welfare Board’s patrons dinner on Sunday. “Mental health needs to be a priority alongside physical health as it has been overlooked for far too long,” the Liverpool Wavertree MP said.
She went on to praise the welfare board’s “vital” contribution to the local community. “I am grateful for the opportunity to learn about your work.”
Ms Berger also spoke about her experiences at Westminster and her efforts to overcome prejudice and sexism in politics.
