Violinist Liam Shinar has won the Emunah Young Musician of the Year contest.
The 14-year-old impressed the judges with his performance of Max Bruch's Violin Concerto No 1 in G minor at the final, held at the Royal Academy of Music and attended by 300 people. Cellist Annoushka Sharp, 11, and James Harvey (solo voice), 12, were the runners-up.
Emunah chairman Camille Compton applauded the talent of the performers and said the proceeds from the event would fund music therapy for abused and traumatised children at Emunah's residential centres in Israel.
