One of the three vice-presidents of the Board of Deputies, Andrew Gilbert, has resigned mid-term, it was announced this evening.
In a short message, members of the representative body were told by its chief executive Michael Wegier that Gilbert had “decided to step down as an honorary officer”.
Wegier added: “We thank him for all his hard work on behalf of the Board of Deputies and we wish him well for the future.”
Gilbert, a former president of the Reform movement and former co-chair of the London Jewish Forum, was elected in May 2024.
