articlemain

The difference JNF UK fundraising is making to the Negev was highlighted at a reception celebrating its work which was hosted by Israel envoy Daniel Taub and his wife Zehava.

Michael Biton, mayor of Negev town Yerucham, was guest speaker. He explained the role of JNF in its development, in particular an early childhood centre which will be completed in 2017. "Yerucham has both opportunities and challenges," he said. "The warm partnership we have with JNF UK is helping us overcome these challenges and realise opportunities."

JNF UK trustee Benjamin Perl said: "We currently have over 30 projects across the Negev and each project is a foundation stone for future generations."

A presentation was made to the Taubs recognising their support of JNF. "Today JNF is so much more than trees," Mr Taub said.
