articlemain

American-born Barbara Epstein, the founding director of Community Advocacy in Israel, is this year's recipient of the New Israel Fund's Human Rights Award.

Her work for social justice has included setting up food co-operatives for the poor. She was presented with her award at the UK branch of NIF's annual dinner at Kensington's Royal Garden Hotel, which raised £140,000 - an increase of more than a quarter on last year.
