Expats from London, Manchester, Bournemouth and Dublin supported Belfast Jewish Community as it held a weekend of celebrations to mark its 50 years in Somerton Road Synagogue.
Following a large gathering at a Shabbat service, a Sunday lunch was attended by 90 people. In his address, Dr Dennis Coppel, joint president of BJC, highlighted "the miracle of the restoration of the shul's foundation stone to its original and pristine condition". A series of lectures about the community's history included an address by Lord Levy of Mill Hill who spoke to a gathering of 300 people.
