“It is only fitting for British Jews to come together in the Royal Albert Hall, one of the world’s most historic and iconic buildings, to loudly and proudly celebrate Israel.”
Michael Goldstein, the president of the US and the brother of Jonathan Goldstein, added that cooperation between the two organisations will “ensure all members of the community will together celebrate Israel and its centrality in our lives”.
Israel was founded on May 14 1948, but the country will celebrate the 70th anniversary of its founding, according to the Hebrew calendar, on April 18 and 19.
The evening’s programme will feature performances from leading Israeli artists, musicians and contemporary dancers. Organisers have said “senior UK and Israeli figures” will be in attendance.
Tickets go on sale later this month.
