The vice-president of ORT UK, Henry Davis was made an MBE for charitable and voluntary services in London, in the Honours list.
He said: "Of course, it comes as a surprise. But, frankly, I've been involved in charity committees since I was a teenager. I was brought up like that. It's important to give something back."
Ninety-two-year-old Joseph Fisher, a member of Newcastle Reform Synagogue, received an MBE for services to charity, especially the British Polio
fellowship.
The head of Arsenal football club's community programmes, Alan Sefton, received an OBE for services to education and to young people.
Flora Glekin, a member of Wizo, was made a BEM for services to charity.
