Sadly, Hampstead and Kilburn voters will not be able to select independent candidate Ronnie Carroll. The former Eurovision contestant, and political ally of Rainbow George Weiss, died this week at the age of 80.
The Belfast-born singer, who represented the UK at Eurovision in 1961 and 1962, was raised a Protestant, but had two Jewish children from his third wife, Glenda Ketteridge, who is a Jewish Care volunteer. Both Harry, 24, and Chloe, 27, went to JFS, where she was head girl.
And while he may have swapped pop for politics, Carroll didn't fully give up the day job; he sang at Chloe's wedding at Finchley Synagogue in October.
