Chris Evans, best known for his role as Marvel superhero Captain America, is heading off to the Red Sea – with the news coming just before Pesach.
According to an article in the Hollywood Reporter, the star will lead the cast in the film, Red Sea Diving Resort, the true story of the Mossad’s efforts to save Ethiopian Jews in the 1970s and 1980s and co-ordinate a mass-extraction operation to bring them home to Israel.
The Mossad team were based in Sudan during the period; Mr Evans will play the role of Ari Kidron, the leader of the unit.
The script for the movie was written by Gideon Raff of Homeland fame, who is also on board to direct.
Mr Raff is also due to write and direct a movie called The Spy, which will focus on the life of Eli Cohen, one of Israel’s most famous secret agents, who infiltrated the highest echelons of the Syrian government before being discovered and killed.
