Far right group Britain First launched a retaliation attack on anti Ukip campaigners who recently confronted Nigel Farage at his local pub.
Dan Glass of the 'Beyond Ukip' group led a demonstration outside Mr Farage’s local pub in Downe, Kent where the Ukip leader was eating lunch with his wife and two children.
Mr Farage said demonstrators forced him and his family to flee the pub, and some had jumped on the bonnet of his car as he drove away.
Mr Glass said that on Monday evening Britain First had launched an attack on the group as they held a meeting in Old Street, in the City of London, and forced them to barricade themselves behind a door.
Mr Glass said one of the members of his group had been assaulted by a Britain First protestor.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police confirmed that a 48-year-old man had been arrested and bailed on suspicion of assault.
Mr Glass said: “We were minding our own business and they turned up. It was terrifying. They were banging on the door, kicking it and trying to barge their way into our room.
“Everyone was so scared and holding back about 15 huge people saying 'we're going to get you we know where you live’
In a video of the incident posted by Britain First, leader Paul Golding can be seen repeatedly trying to enter the meeting.
To the camera he said: “We've come here tonight to give them a taste of their own medicine.”
Speaking to one member of the 'Beyond Ukip' group outside the meeting, he warned them: "If you overstep the mark you will find us on your doorstep."
Britain First has repeatedly encouraged their supporters to back Mr Farage's party with the slogan "Ukip at the ballot box, Britain First on the streets."
