The final Jewish candidate on this year’s Apprentice has been fired by Lord Sugar with one week to go.
Property developer Jamie Lester became the latest casualty of the boardroom after faltering at the interview stage of the contest.
Lord Sugar told him: “I think you’ve come to the end of the road."
The former Ilford Jewish Primary School pupil was the last of the three candidates fired in the episode but could not save his place despite revealing to Margaret Mountford the “interesting fact” that he has a third nipple.
Lord Sugar’s former sidekick said of him: “I found it hard to struggle through 15 minutes with him. He was strangely lacking in confidence.”
Mr Lester, 28, joins other fired Jewish hopefuls of this season Alex Epstein, Melissa Cohen and Joy Stefanicki.
Highpoints of Mr Lester’s time on the Apprentice have included his ghost-themed guided tour around London, in which he told visitors to London that the Thames was the city’s second biggest river, and a task which saw him donning a giant penguin suit.
In one memorable episode he and Mr Epstein shared a Jewish moment, when Mr Epstein said to him: “Kosher love”.
At the beginning of the episode Mr Lester predicted: “It’s going to be a very long and difficult day.”
Later, he added: “The smallest hole in your CV, they put a stick of dynamite in it and blow it up”.
After being fired Mr Lester said: “I really thought that I was through to the final. I think I’ve got a huge amount to give so we’ll see what the future holds.”
Although he did not make it to the final, Mr Lester may be comforted to recall that he progressed further than any other Jewish candidate in six series of the Apprentice.
