Mr Robertson was previously the chief executive of the prison arts charity, the Koestler Trust, which exhibits and sells works by offenders.
He also was a child protection social worker in Camden, where he set up the local council’s Sure Start programme.
“I'm looking forward to leading The Anne Frank Trust UK through the next phase of its growth alongside its trustees and staff, its many friends and supporters, and above all the young people it inspires,” he added.
Daniel Mendoza, chair of the Anne Frank Trust Board of Trustees said the charity was “thrilled that Tim will be our new CEO.
“He brings a wealth of relevant experience and a real passion for our values and vision of a society safe from all forms of prejudice and discrimination. The need for our work today is greater than ever, and we have every confidence that Tim will lead the Trust to even greater impact in the next stage of our development."
