Amy Winehouse’s north London property was sold at auction for nearly £2m yesterday.

The Back to Black singer’s former home in Camden Square was sold for £1.98m after five buyers battled it out at an auction house in Piccadilly.

Bidding on the three-bedroom property, which fans turned into a shrine for the former star, started at £1.7m. The successful bidders are a couple in their forties.

The semi-detached property remained unoccupied since the troubled 27 year old singer died in the property on July 23 2011.

The singer, whose ashes are interred at Edgwarebury Jewish cemetery in north west London, had a notorious relationship with drink and drugs. The coroner delivered a verdict of death by “misadventure”.
