iPhone users can watch actress Alexis Strum's latest work anytime, anywhere.

The former singer stars in Persona, believed to be the world's first drama series created exclusively for iPhones and smartphones.

The programme follows the interrelating lives of four 30-something Londoners. She plays one of the leads - the fame-hungry, seductive Samantha.

Each "appisode" is about two minutes. Miss Strum, who lives in Chingford, Essex, tells People: "Samantha is an awful creature –- really spoilt, nasty and vacuous.

"It is great to be part of the show. Watching programmes online is the way things are going - iPhone apps are huge. Everything is on demand today. People want to watch things whenever they want and when they are out an about."

Miss Strum, who has acted alongside Sir Ian McKellen and Richard E Grant, entered the industry two years ago.

She had previously spent several years as a singer/songwriter, signed to both Warner and Universal records.

She has recorded with Robbie Williams and wrote, produced and performed the song, Got A Grip On Me, which appears in Channel 4's cult hit-show The Inbetweeners.

Miss Strum is currently starring in the play, It Started With A Touch, running at the Wimbledon Studio Theatre in London.

Persona is available to watch via the app Persona Drama, which can be downloaded for £1.19.
