Jared Kushner is a woman, according to New York state voter records.
First reported by Wired, and verified by Newsweek, President Trump’s son-in-law and key advisor is listed as ‘female’ on the forms which certify his eligibility to vote in state and federal elections.
He’s also registered to vote in New Jersey – but in that state his gender is listed as ‘unknown’.
There is no suggestion that Mr Kushner has committed any voter fraud and it is possible this has come about by accident.
But of course, next to the President’s claims of widespread voter fraud, not to mention Mr Trump’s proposed ban of transgender troops serving in the US military, this revelation is packed full of irony.
It comes hot on the heels of accusations of hypocrisy aimed at Mr Kushner, after it was revealed he used a private email server to send official government messages, which was one of the main criticisms the President levelled at Hillary Clinton during the presidential election campaign.
