I'd get hold of Binyamin Netanyahu and Ehud Barak and tell them the following:
"Let's forget about the peace process because, chez nous and all that, it's going to go nowhere in the next 18 months and anyway there ain't a huge amount of difference between us on the main points.
"Let's concentrate instead on domestic issues instead, where, again, you can't pass a cigarette paper between us.
"Let's agree that the next election, in 18 months' time, will be held under a new system - whereby Israel will be divided up into 100 constituencies, and each constituency will elect one representative. We will, of course, have to invent a Hebrew word for accountability, because those elected will be accountable to the electorate. Tough concept, I know, but not brain surgery.
"Then none of us will be beholden to small sectoral parties who, on a whim, or for the price of several billion shekels, can bring down the government. An election every two and a half years is a bit too much for this country. Nothing gets done.
"Let's sort out a proper constitution, so that everyone, but everyone, knows their rights and duties.
"But first of all, let's sort out education. Only one state funded system should exist - anyone who wants sectoral education of any stripe should pay for it themselves. We shouldn't have to fund those who don't teach the basics. No wonder we're slipping rapidly down the world leagues."
What did the bearded bloke say: "If you will it, it is no dream."
