David C's taste of Palestine in Westbourne Park

December 16, 2008 19:00

Travelling around unfashionable Westbourne Park, I could not help but notice Maramia Cafe. The food is wonderful. Well it would be, since it described itself as "The Taste of Palestine".

It describes itself as being "the first of its kind in the UK in offering the Palestinian Mediterranean fast food."

It goes on to say that "Maramia means sage (the healthy natural herb that is used as a curing hot drink) reflecting our aim to provide fresh, healthy and tasteful food."

All well and good, until you come to its map Palestine Map
where you will see that Israel doesn't exist. Not very nice.

And, what's more, the place is proud to publicise the fact that David Cameron enjoys time off with his family there. I wonder who enjoys eating at a place which denies Israel's existence.
