Friday, September 29 (Tishri 9), erev Yom Kippur. The hafsakah in London is at 6.29, at which time Shabbat and the fast begin; Bournemouth 6.30; Leeds 6.29; Manchester 6.35; Tyneside 6.30; Glasgow 6.42; Jerusalem 5.51 (local time). The Kol Nidre service in the synagogue usually begins fifteen minutes after the hafsakah.

Saturday, September 30 (Tishri 10), Yom Kipppur. Portion, morning: Leviticus 16:1-34 and Numbers 29:7-11; afternoon: Leviticus 18:1-30. Haftarah, morning: Isaiah 57:14 to 58:14; afternoon: Book of Jonah and Micah 7:18-20. Yizkor.

Lighting of candles on the second evening of Succot in London is at 7.16; Bournemouth 7.26; Leeds 7.08; Manchester 7.24; Tyneside 7.22; Glasgow 7.33; Jerusalem (first day ends) 6.56.

Friday, October 6 (Tishri 16), Succot 2nd day. Portion: Leviticus 22:26 to 23:44 and Numbers 29:12-16. Haftarah: I Kings 8:2-21.
