from hamas to hope

Hostage held in Gaza and IDF hero shot seven times share their inspirational stories.

Join us for an evening with rescued hostage Almog Meir Jan and injured IDF soldier Ben Ladany – two young men whose lives were forever changed by October 7 and the war that followed. They will share their experiences in a rare public appearance, interviewed by Nicole Lampert

Almog was kidnapped from the Nova music festival and held hostage in Gaza for eight months before being rescued. Ben was a lone soldier in the IDF’s Oketz K-9 Unit who was critically wounded in combat while trying to save his partner, a military dog named Jack. Their journeys unfolded in very different circumstances, yet they both faced trauma, and had to rebuild their identities, and return to the world with renewed purpose.

In an intimate and honest conversation, Almog and Ben will reflect on the moments that defined them, the choices they made and the lessons they learned. Their stories are inspiring testaments to the power of community and the strength of individual survivors.

Almog Meir Jan, was abducted by Hamas from the Nova music festival on October 7. He was held for eight months in a Hamas-controlled apartment deep in Gaza. On June 8, in one of the most daring and well-known operations of the war – operation Arnon – Israeli forces entered Gaza and rescued Almog along with Noa Argamani, Shlomi Ziv and Andrey Kozlov, bringing them home to Israel. Almog now travels the world, sharing what it means to survive captivity.

Ben Ladany, a lone soldier from South Africa, was drafted into the IDF’s elite Oketz K-9 unit, serving alongside his combat dog, Jack. During a covert mission in Gaza, Ben was ambushed by Hamas terrorist and shot seven times. Jack was shot too – sacrificing himself to save Ben and his team. Ben spent two months in a coma and is now on a mission of his own: sharing their story around the world.
