Sukkotingham Forest kept alive their hopes of securing a Maccabi GB Southern Football League (MGBSFL) league and cup treble as they booked their place into the final of Barry Goldstein Trophy.

Having been crowned Division One champions, they are 90 minutes away from winning the David Wolff Division One Cup and beat Premier Division side Stopinsky on penalties on Sunday morning to set up a final against Rapid Viennas.

Josh Sumerfield fired Forest into a 65th minute lead, and although Viennas got back on level terms, taking the tie to penalties. Dylan Heller, Noah Meszarich, Dillon Caine and Josh Morris scored Forest’s first four. Josh Jacob saved Viennas’ fourth attempt, leaving Sam Mallet to convert the winning spot kick to seal a 5-4 win.

Delighted with the performance, joint-interim manager Toby Mandel said: “It was a top-quality performances from every single player against a top side. We played as a unit and defended with passion and grit, the difference between the teams was how we played together and fought for each other, putting bodies on the line to see out a result.”
