The first Maccabi Masters League fixture of 2026 proved to be a blockbuster as the top two sides met in what many described as being a possible title decider.

Tied on 24 points going into the match, but with Maccabi London Lions having a game in hand, Sunday’s result left the Rowley Lane side firmly in the title driving seat as they maintained their 100% winning run by coming away from Scrabble with a 3-2 win.

Paul Lenchner, Bradley Lazarus and Jon Swead were all on target for the victors, with Mark Wagman and Andy Millet’s strikes proving a mere consolation for Scrabble.

There were also two Charity Cup ties played. A one-sided encounter saw a David Simmons hat-trick help Brady on their way to a 6-1 win over St John’s Wood Tigers, Scott Ansher chipped in with two goals, with Jeff Gotch netting their sixth. Matt Langer bagged Tigers’ consolation.
