Leeds quartet boxing clever for good causes

articlemain

Leeds friends Charles Barnett, Ben Buck, Richard Symonds and Bradley Wine were out to punch at a  white collar boxing event, Fighting for Change, in east London. They won their contests and raised £80,000 for charity in the process.

“It was a fantastic result for Leeds,” said Mr Buck, a property investment agent supporting Cancer Research UK. “There were many people who turned up from Leeds to support us. The place was rocking with Leeds chants and hopefully we did the city proud.”

Mr Symonds, a construction consultant also raising money for Cancer Research UK, said his opponent “deserved respect as he needed medical treatment afterwards. He was a seriously tough and brave guy and I’m glad he is OK. But it shows how dangerous the sport really is.”

He wants to continue raising money for charity through white collar boxing, which, he said, required “real sacrifice and dedication”.
