Record-breaking Jewish pupil achievement in A-levels was continued at GCSE with Hasmonean High students recording the school’s best-ever performance.

Half the exams sat by the 131 Hasmonean pupils were passed with an A-star or A grade. And 90 per cent of students achieved five or more A-star to C passes including maths and English.

Executive head David Fuller said: “These excellent results reflect a significant step in our continuing drive to be outstanding in every aspect of our work. I am tremendously proud of all the teaching and support staff for their exceptional contribution.”

Jacob Rashbass led the way with 15 A-stars, Samuel Ebert had 11 A-stars, Sarah Adler achieved 10 A-stars and one A and Nehama Harris got eight A-stars and three As.

JFS also reported that 50 per cent of exams sat by pupils were scored A-star or A. Forty-four pupils achieved A-star or A grades in all their subjects.

Head Jonathan Miller said: “These GCSE results, following our record A-level results last week, reinforce the JFS record of consistent excellence and I extend hearty congratulations to students, parents and teachers.”

There was a 100 per cent pass rate at Manchester King David, where 57 per cent of all exams sat by pupils were marked A-star or A. Sam Sietler recorded 10 A-stars and two As. Hadassah Marks achieved 10 A-stars and one A.
At King Solomon High School in Redbridge, 80 per cent of pupils achieved five A-star to C grades. Alex Kaye and Hayley Simon both scored eight A-stars and four As.

Head Spencer Lewis attributed the results to “some very hard work by the students and their teachers”.
Students at Immanuel College, Bushey, passed 47 per cent of their GCSEs at A-star or A grade.

Among the strongest performers were Joel Fisher, who achieved 12 A-stars, Ahron Peskin, eight A-stars and three As, Emily Lewis, six A-stars and six As, and Amos Wittenberg, five A-stars and six As.

Successes at mainstream schools included Georgia Cohen’s 11 A-stars at Leeds Grammar. At the same school, Jessica Kempner and Oliver Lestner each achieved 10 A-stars.
