The Jewish Learning Exchange (JLE), the organisation for young Jewish students and professionals seeking Jewish learning and community, is rebranding as Olami UK.
Olami is a network of Jewish organisations offering Torah learning and other opportunities for spiritual growth that operates through 320 member organisations in 28 countries.
JLE, which is based in Golders Green, is due to complete its transition to its new identity as the UK branch of Olami by April next year.
Olami already runs Jewish education schemes in major cities including New York – where its headquarters are located – Tel Aviv, Paris, Berlin, Buenos Aires and Sydney.
Its programmes range from early-career mentorship from seasoned professionals to anti-discrimination workshops for university students, all the way to online yeshivah classes.
It also creates and distributes educational resources and social media content which helps to connect its community worldwide.
Since October 7, we have witnessed first-hand the power of Jewish peoplehood. We may be the smallest nation, but we are the biggest family
Olami UK, as JLE will shortly be known, will also benefit from Olami’s global infrastructure and sharing expertise with Olami’s vast existing network, that creates wider opportunities for collaboration between member organisations.
Rabbi Benjy Morgan, CEO of Olami UK, said, “Since October 7, we have witnessed first-hand the power of Jewish peoplehood. Young Jews from across the world have come together with a renewed sense of belonging, connection, and shared identity. We may be the smallest nation, but we are the biggest family.
“Our deepened partnership with Olami means greater efficiency and higher quality for our organisation, but most importantly, it means richer and more meaningful experiences for students and young professionals.
“Whether they relocate, travel, or simply seek a place to belong in any major city, Olami provides a trusted network and a home wherever they go”.
Rabbi Avi Cassel, the executive vice president of Olami, said: “The entire world benefits from the strong and familiar name that Olami has developed for high quality learning, trips, and programming.”
Rabbi Morgan and JLE, he added, had been “among our most prestigious partners for years, and we are excited that they will now carry the Olami UK name, connecting their students even more deeply to inspiring programming and to other students, young professionals, and communities around the world”.
