Back in July, Jewish and Muslim leaders in Manchester said that the relationship between the two faith communities was at “an all-time low” in the city, exacerbated by the war in Gaza.

Now, a rabbi and an imam have dedicated themselves to repairing the rift.

Rabbi Dovid Lewis, 46, is a born and raised Mancunian, and Imam Nasser Kurdy, 66, is from a Jordanian background and born in Syria.

Together, despite their different upbringings, political and religious outlooks, the pair are on a mission to demonstrate to others the power of dialogue and understanding saying that there is “power” in showing forgiveness and empathy.
