JC GOAL OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS

- JOEL BARNETT (Los Blancos) - received the ball on the corner of the box, waist high and with angle against him rifled a venomous first-time volley which whistled across the Kasey Keller look-a-like in goal slamming in off the post. If anyone would like to watch the highlights of this goal please refer to Robin Van Persie wonder strike against Charlton in 2006. This was his first-ever goal in a non-friendly fixture at any level over-16 years of non-stop Sunday football! Even then, it was deflected but the look on his face was one of total shock when it went in!

- ELIO ELIA (Hertswood Vale) - Vale's answer to Laurent Robert floated in an inch-perfect free-kick wide right of the penalty area by the touchline - the ball ran through a host of players and nestled into the far corner, away from the keeper's reach

- JOSH CUBY (Oakwood A) - superb-executed free-kick into top corner

- JOSH PUGH (Scrabble FC) - first-half equaliser hit with power from distance and took a deflection to give the Blancos keeper no chance

------------------------------------------------

JC SAVE OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS

- ADAM BITON (Bayern Mincha) - a set-piece fell to a Dons player two yards out but Biton came to the rescue with an incredible goal-line cross somehow kept the ball from going in

- JOE NYMAN (Bayern Mincha) - sharp reflex save, tipping a close-range over the bar

- JOE BOTCHIN (Oakwood A) - unbelievable flying save to his right to keep Oaks in game at 2-1 down. You won’t see a better save all season

------------------------------------------------

JC QUOTE OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS

- DANIEL HOLDER (Bayern Mincha) - "Josh Cinna who was outstanding for the Dons today and won every header. We may be putting in a bid for him over the summer!"

- DAN SHAFRON (NL Raiders A) -  "To go down to 10 men after 20 minutes and control the game as well we did was a testament to all the boys involved today"

- DAN KRISTALL (Oakwood A) - "The Prem Division is the strongest in the three years I’ve been involved and is a great advert for Jewish football"

- DORON SALOMON (NL Raiders B) - "Every single player can be proud of themselves, even Lewis Blitz who channeled Marouane Fellaini with a six-minute cameo that including a ball in the face and a kick to the calf that forced him off"

- STEVEN BLACK (Temple Fortune B) - "At a time when our league should be pulling together, no referee should be giving up their Sunday morning to be subjected to aggression and abusive language. Without our referees we have no MGBSFL and every team in the league should be doing their utmost to ensure this doesn't happen"

- GREG CORIN (Hendon Utd) - "We have a big cup game next week against Brady and it’s how we react from this first league defeat of the season which will show our real quality"

MACCABI LONDON LIONS BLUE 4 BRADY MACCABI 1

Josh Bloom and Jono Gaon fired braces as Lions Blue romped to victory in the latest Rowley Lane derby.

Ben Henry came off the bench to pull one back for Brady.

MLL boss Sam Marchant told JC Sport: "We need to take this performance into our next games and show some consistency which has been lacking during the season. All in all it was a good, solid performance and we want to finish the season strong."

Brady joint-manager Eli Dagul told JC Sport: "We weren’t at the races today. We regained some pride in the second half but overall it wasn’t a good performance from us. We will pick ourselves up to go again next week in the cup semi-final against Hendon."

NORTH LONDON RAIDERS A 3 HENDON UNITED SPORTS 0

A deadly double from super-sub Josh Goldstein plus one from Josh Bharier earned Raiders A the result of the day as they became the first team to beat Hendon in the league this season.

Jubilant Raiders boss Dan Shafron told JC Sport: "It was an excellent team performance and a well-deserved win. To go down to 10 men after 20 minutes (Oscar Wagner was sent off for foul and abusive language) and control the game as well we did was a testament to all the boys involved today."

Hendon manager Greg Corin told JC Sport: "It was an off day for the team. We had a lot of quality on display but only 11 players, one of whom was doing the team a big favour and shouldn’t really of been playing because of injury."

OAKWOOD A 2 MACCABI LONDON LIONS WHITE 2

Oakwood A remain a point clear at the top despite dropping two points at home to Lions White in a four-goal thriller, with Sam Hammerton and Max Misrahi registering for the Lions.

Josh Cuby had given Oakwood the lead with a superb free-kick and they battled back after Lions went 2-1 up, with a late equaliser from Simon Davies

Lions boss Ryan Springer told JC Sport: "Disappointingly we had five players pull out between Saturday night and kick-off. Fortunately we still have a number of very committed boys at the club who stepped in at the last minute to help the side out. Thanks to them we managed to pull off a fantastic performance in a game we feel unlucky to have only come away with one point from.”

Oakwood joint-manager Dan Kristall told JC Sport: "With our last two results and news from the Raiders/Hendon game, it just goes to prove how good this league is. It’s wide open which can only be a good thing."

NORTH LONDON RAIDERS B 4 OAKWOOD B 1

JAKE GILBERT was the hat-trick hero as Raiders B moved to within a point of leaders Faithfold with an emphatic 4-1 win over promotion rivals Oakwood B.

Dave Esterkin added the gloss with his third goal in two games as L'Orange made a big statement of intent.

Oakwood's consolation came via Sam Modlin.

NLR joint-manager Doron Salomon told JC Sport: "It's a shame we don't have a game next week to carry on our momentum but we've put ourselves in a strong position in the league and we want to make it as uncomfortable for Faithfold as possible."

FAITHFOLD A 2 REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE C 2

Leaders Faithfold dropped points for only the second time this season as Ben Oldstein and Jason Patmore earned Redbridge C a precious point at the Hive.

Faithfold's goals came via Josh Wagner and Ben Shirbini.

Faithfold boss Avi Markiewicz told JC Sport: "There is no doubt that this was two points dropped. We are still unbeaten and showed good character to come back but it still felt like a loss at the end of the day."

SCRABBLE FC 2 LOS BLANCOS 5

Los Blancos eased their relegation fears as they piled the pressure on an out-of-sorts Scrabble to win 5-2, with Oli Sade (2), Avi KestenbaumJake Doffman and Joel Barnett.

Josh Pugh and Ben Portnoi replied for Scrabble.

Blancos manager Joel Salamon told JC Sport: "A few harsh words were dished out at half-time, the second half is the standard we need to set ourselves for the rest of season."

Scrabble boss Ray Abrahams told JC Sport: "Unfortunately as I've been saying for weeks we have so many long term injuries that we were still putting the team together as late as Saturday evening, and with seven or eight top quality players again sidelined today, it has really had an impact on performances and results."

Gab Saul and Jonny Pressman earned Temple Fortune B a point - and they were just minutes away from claiming all three in a game Catford finished with 10 men.

Fortune joint-manager Steven Black told JC Sport: "The feelings within the squad are mixed today. Whilst we are gutted to only take home a point, I am personally delighted with the continued improvement in this team."

MILL HILL DONS 1 BAYERN MINCHA 2

A late penalty from top-scorer Adam Ellis enabled Bayern Mincha to win the top of the table clash against Mill Hill Dons to move four points clear.

VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS

Zach Cohen had put the Dons in front before a dramatic twist saw Bayern turn the game on its head, with Nicky Cooper hauling Bayern level and Ellis winning it after ref Darryl Colmans blew for handball. Bayern finished with 10 men after Adam Biton was sent off.

Bayern joint-manager Daniel Holder told JC Sport: "This could be an instrumental moment in the season as it puts us top, but we still have seven cup finals left to play. We got outplayed by Dons just a few weeks ago as we lost 4-0, but with five wins on the bounce since the break, it shows how far we’ve come."

Dons boss Brandon Hamme told JC Sport: "The goals we conceded were unfortunate but Bayern were class today and they deserved the win. They will be pushing us until the very end for promotion, we know we are in for a fight.”

Man of the moment Ryan Kangisser registered for FC Team but their winning run came to a halt against Real Hendon, for whom Chaim Gothold netted.

Real's Rafi Addlestone told JC Sport: "It was a tough game played in even tougher conditions. Both goals came from the ball being blown directly into the goal by the wind."

FC Team player-manager Mitch Young told JC Sport: "It was an awful game in terrible conditions with two wind-assisted goals. A draw was a fair result and we look forward to getting back on 3G next week."

STRAW HAT PIRATES 1 HERTSWOOD VALE 3

Second-half strikes from Josh Wood, Elio Elia and Josh Cohen lifted Hertswood Vale into the top six as they bounced back from last week's defeat against Raiders to beat the Pirates 3-1.

Top-scorer Aron Gale accounted for the Pirates' goal.

Delighted Hertswood joint-manager Jacob Emanuel told JC Sport: "It wasn't at all pretty, but a deserved win on the balance of play. The lads showed exceptional mental strength to come from a goal down in the 64th minute, turn the game around, and secure the three points."
