JC GOAL OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS

- ARON GALE (NL Raiders) - Charlie Kasler pinged a sensational ball in from the right-hand side and Gale met it in Ronaldo-esque fashion, leaping high and hanging in the air before his bullet header nestled in the top corner

- DANNY SHERMAN (Temple Fortune) - after controlling a Scrabble goal-kick on his chest 40 yards out, Sherman let the ball bounce before arrowing a half volley into the top corner. A goal of the season contender, never mind goal of the week. The technique was superb and the man is in some red hot form at the moment

- BRADLEY GAYER (Fairlop FC) - what a goal from the Fairlop skipper. Remember Rooney vs West Ham from the halfway line? This was better, 45 yards from goal, he fired goalwards - the Fairlop ultras are about to start laying into him until the ball flew past the keeper and finds the top corner which started the comeback

- DANNI DENNISON (Oakwood B) - 40-yard thunderbolt flew perfectly in the top corner

------------------------

JC SAVE OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS

- ADAM ZAIDMAN (Hertswood Vale) - pulled off a class save mid-way through the second half against Mill Hill Dons

- STEVEN MURAD (Los Camden A) - after smart work down the left channel, Brady whipped a ball into the box, the cut-back was superb and it looked like a definite goal, Moo had other ideas quickly darting across his goal-mouth, spreading himself to stick out his left hand flicking the ball round the post. An outrageous piece of athleticism, his reflexes saved a certain goal and left everyone including himself stunned at what had happened. Moo could have made this list three or four times today but this was the pick of the bunch, Moo has changed his pre-match routine and it has started paying dividends as he is in fine form

JC QUOTE OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS

- JOEL NATHAN (Brady Maccabi) - "The guys have been sent home and told to look at themselves as they know it was a game we should have won and have to understand about game-management when leading. I can’t fault their effort and desire but it is not good enough and they know it"

- STEVEN BLACK (Temple Fortune) - "A final word must go to Lee Fegan who played his final match for Fortune today. 247 games for the club and we were thrilled to send him off with yet another clean sheet. Today’s three points are for him"

- JACOB EMANUEL (Hertswood Vale) - QUOTE 1 -"Without sounding too much like Arsene, from where I was standing, neither Jack or I could see the incident through the crowd of players, but the boys seemed adamant at the end of the match that it was a blatant handball. Either way, you certainly won’t hear me complaining."

- JACOB EMANUEL (Hertswood Vale) - QUOTE 2 - "It’s worth mentioning that I found myself really disappointed with some of the pre-match comments I read ahead of this game. It’s never acceptable to make personal comments, and I thought they were completely unjust. However, Brandon and I put all the talk to one side and we left the game today in good spirits - exactly the way it should’ve been to start with. I genuinely wish Brandon and MH Dons the best for the rest of the season, and I look forward to playing them again in the future"

PETER MORRISON TROPHY ROUND ONE

REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE B 0 MACCABI LONDON LIONS 2 (After extra-time)

Second division Redbridge B produced an heroic performance before succumbing to holders Maccabi London Lions in extra-time, following goals from Michael Kenley and goal-poacher Reiss Mogilner.

"The better team won, just," conceded RJC boss Richard Bronzite. He went on to tell JC Sport: "I was very impressed with my boys, the whole squad today showed a lot of character and bottle and I was really surprised by how determined the boys were. Lions deserve to be in the next round and we wish them well but they had a battle on their hands today."

Lions joint-manager Max Kyte told JC Sport: "It was a well fought game by both sides, with Redbridge showing their years of experience. We dominated for most of the game, and it was all Lions in extra-time, when the younger legs were able to dominate."

HENDON UNITED SPORTS 0 OAKWOOD A 2

Oakwood A blew the title race open after inflicting a second defeat of the season on table-toppers Hendon United at Hadley FC.

Strikes from Brad Wine and Josh Bharier moved the Oaks to within four points of Hendon with two games in hand.

Jubilant Oakwood joint-manager Dan Kristall told JC Sport: "It was a huge win against an excellent, full-strength and well-drilled Hendon side. By far our best performance in 12-plus months. There's still a long way to go but we’ve put ourselves right back in it."

Hendon boss Jordan Sapler told JC Sport: "Oakwood wanted it more today and deserved the win. We weren’t good enough but look to put it right when we play them again in three weeks. We lost Ari Nevies to injury early in the second half and had to reshuffle and then conceded a second in the dying minutes when we pushed for an equaliser."

BRADY MACCABI 1 LOS CAMDEN A 2

Shai Davidi and Rob Hershkorn were the scorers as Los Camden came from a goal down to beat Brady Maccabi 2-1 at Rowley Lane, in a game where all the goals came in the second half.

Los Camden manager Stirling Kay told JC Sport: "I am proud of the team as we had to rely on some players that hadn’t played for the A team this season and they were all excellent in getting us over the line."

Rob Cohen had given Brady the lead, but boss Joel Nathan was left to reflect on what he described as "a frustrating morning". Nathan told JC Sport: "We controlled the game from start to finish but didn’t take our chances and were made to pay in the last 10 minutes when we gave away two goals due to our own defensive mistakes. The guys have been sent home and told to look at themselves as they know it was a game we should have won and have to understand about game-management when leading. I can’t fault their effort and desire but it is not good enough and they know it."

HMH 5 FAITHFOLD DOC MM A 1

ETHAN KRELL was the hat-trick hero as HMH leapfrogged Faithfold after a securing a 4-1 win at Chase Lodge. Alex Moss and Josh Dreyfuss added the gloss as Avi Goldberg's men registered their third league win of the season.

SEE VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS

HMH manager Avi Goldberg told JC Sport: "It was a consummate performance from the lads today, despite being reduced to 10 men for 60 minutes. Ethan Krell was superb but this was a superb effort performance from the whole team."

SEE PHOTOGALLERY

Faithfold scorer and player-manager Avi Markiewicz told JC Sport: "HMH were very much on top during the first half. They created three chances and scored them all. We improved a little in the second half, however we were not good enough. We missed a few good chances, we could blame the pitch but in the end we weren’t good enough and HMH deserved it, even with the 10 men."

BAYERN MINCHA 2 NORTH LONDON RAIDERS 5

A deadly double from Scott Waissel helped Raiders return to winning ways against Bayern, with further efforts from Charlie Kasler, Aron Gale and an own goal clinching the points.

Adam Ellis and Philippe Auret registered in the first half for Bayern.

Victorious Raiders joint-manager Jake Yudelowitz told JC Sport: "It was a sensational second-half performance from the boys after a slow start in which we went 1-0 and 2-1 down. Mincha are a different team without Alon Pinhas - it is a shame he was injured today. We have a break next week before our biggest game as a club against Hendon in the cup. Up the Raiders!"

FAIRLOP FC 4 OAKWOOD B 3

Fairlop FC boosted their title hope with victory in a seven-goal thriller against Oakwood B, thanks to goals from Bradley Gayer, Kai Vale, Harrison Grant and James Jaconelli.

After watching his team claw back a 0-2 and 2-3 deficit, jubilant Fairlop boss Aaron Dias told JC Sport: "We are winning machines - that’s what we do and that is why we will be champions come the end of the season."

Oakwood's goals came through Dan Ash, Dani Dennison, Harvey Kaye. Joint-manager Simon Field told JC Sport: "This was another disappointing defeat. After a really positive first-half performance, we were unable to carry it through to the second half, and sloppy mistakes led to us losing 4-3. Some positive signs but a lot of work to do to get back up the table."

MILL HILL DONS 1 HERTSWOOD VALE 1

A late penalty from top-scorer James Millet helped Hertswood Vale secure a point in a hard-fought battle against the Dons, for whom Josh Cinna had opened the scoring.

Frustrated Dons boss Brandon Hamme told JC Sport: "A complete sucker punch in the dying moments cost us three points, in what could only be best described as a dubious penalty decision. We played really well and we were very unfortunate not to have got the win. Fair play to Hertswood though who kept things tight throughout, they didn’t make it easy for us. We will be hold our heads high, proud of the way the boys played."

Vale joint-manager Jacob Emanuel told JC Sport: "It was good performance from both teams, and fair play to the Dons for another great battle throughout."

SPEC FC 5 FAITHFOLD DOC MM B 2

Strikes from leading marksman Zack Neiman, Josh Green, Matt Leader, Ricky Lawrence and Craig Cohen ensured SPEC FC returned to winning ways with an impressive 5-2 victory over promotion rivals Faithfold B.

SPEC FC player-manager Ricky Lawrence told JC Sport: “It was great to get back to winning ways and our second half performance was possibly the best we’ve played all season. A very good ref and two nice teams made it a decent game without any sort of aggro from either team.”

Faithfold's goals came via the evergreen Chaim Gothold and Gav Noe. Superhoops boss Martin Smulovitch told JC Sport: "After dominating the first half, but only holding a slender one-goal advantage at the break, we somehow contrived to concede five goals in the second half. Full credit to SPEC for taking advantage of our lacklustre display both defensively and offensively, but we only have ourselves to blame for throwing away what should have a been a comfortable three points.

Fortune assistant-manager Steven Black told JC Sport: "I am delighted with the win. We showed maturity, patience and tactical awareness to win the game today and I am proud of the way we battled from start to end."
