HENDON UNITED SPORTS 1 HMH OLD BOYS 5

ADAM ABADI was the hat-trick hero as new boys HMH earned the result of the day - hitting high fives against defending league champions Hendon United.

There were also goals for Dom Feldman and Clark Norton on a memorable morning for Avi Goldberg's men at Hadley FC.

Jubilant HMH boss Avi Goldberg told JC Sport: "Our first outing in men’s football couldn’t have been more daunting facing an away trip to league champions and charity shield holders Hendon. The guys came primed and ready for action and took the game to Hendon from the start and it soon paid dividends. I could not have been more pleased with the whole squad’s performance this early in the season.”

Disappointed Hendon boss Jordan Sapler told JC Sport: "It wasn't our best day at the office today. HMH are a very, very good team who will be challenging for the title come the end of the season, but when you're playing against yourselves and a good team it's never going to end well."

MACCABI LONDON LIONS 3 FAITHFOLD A 2

Daniel Green (2) and Adam Arnold helped Lions edge a five-goal thriller over Division One champions Faithfold at Rowley Lane, getting the Sam Marchant/Max Kyte era off to a triumphant start.

Lions joint-manager Sam Marchant told JC Sport: "We didn’t come out the blocks today as we’d have liked, and perhaps gave our opponents too much time and space early on allowing them to keep possession. But once we scored our goal, we settled and really controlled the game and deservedly were 3-0 up. We began to get a bit complacent towards the end of the game and conceded from a set piece and a sloppy pass in our final third. However, we’ve started the season as we wanted, with three points and we keep focusing and aim to do the same next weekend."

A Faithfold spokesman told JC Sport: "We were unfortunate to leave Rowley Lane without a point. Two disallowed goals and on a different day it would've been a totally different story. Lions didn't waste their chances and they had their goalkeeper to thank for the three points.

BAYERN MINCHA 3 LOS BLANCOS B 2

ADAM ELLIS carried on where he left off last season - with the Golden Boot winning steering Bayern Mincha to three points against Los Camden B.

Jubilant Mincha joint-manager Daniel Holder told JC Sport: "Overall whilst we were 1-0 down at half time, we were comfortably the better side and was a matter of time before the goal came. At 3-1 up with 20 to go we were comfortable and in control. Though in Classic Mincha style we conceded with 2 minutes to to create a very nervy finish. A last minute corner resulted in their keeper almost equalising with the last kick of the game. Well done to Los Camden who gave us a great game and we wish them the best of luck for the season."

FAIRLOP FC 0 JEWDINESE 0

Defences dominated at 7 Kings School as Division Two champions Fairlop and the returning Jewdinese shared the points.

Fairlop boss Aaron Dias told JC Sport: "It was an okay start to life in Division Onel we dealt with their attack very well, limiting them only to a few set piece chances, but at the same time we struggled to get out of second gear and really playing the expansive football we have been playing in pre-season."

Jewdinese manager Darren Lawrence told: “I’m proud of everyone involved today. It was a tough way to start the season, away to the Division Two champions. But we held our own, didn’t show them too much respect and gradually got a foothold in the game. It’s a point we’ll happily take and will look the build on.”

NORTH LONDON RAIDERS A 3 REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE A 4

A deadly double from Nate Kashket ensured a winning start for Redbridge A as they won a seven-goal thriller against Raiders. Further from Carl Dobrin and Steve Summers secured maximum points for the Essex men.

Liron Mannie (2) and Jake Yudelowitz registered for Raiders.

Redbridge manager Sam Rank told JC Sport: " I asked the boys to give a performance that they now they can do and be proud off, and was brilliant to see. Great to see all work on the training field paying off and three points in the bag."

NLR joint-player-manager Jake Yudelowitz told JC Sport: "We controlled the game, and I'm not sure how we didn't win this. Plenty of positives to take with their goals, apart from a great free kick, coming on the counter resulting from our mistakes. A good showing in our first competitive game together."

ZACK COHEN fired a hat-trick to get Mill Hill Dons off to a winning start against FC Team. Joe Reece added the gloss on a memorable morning for Brandon Hamme's men.

Delighted Dons boss Brandon Hamme's told JC Sport: "It was a fantastic performance from the boys, they all put a proper shift in and we got the result we deserved."

FC Team player-manager Mitch Young told JC Sport: "Congratulations to MH Dons they were the better team and deserved the victory. They should have taken promotion to the higher league and I was suprised they didn't, and any team that finishes above them this season will win the league."

HERTSWOOD VALE 2 TEMPLE FORTUNE 1

First half goals from James Millet, Harry Graham and an 85th minute penalty save from debutant Adam Zaidman, denying Fortune's Danny Sherman, secured the three points for the Vale against Temple Fortune.

Vale joint-manager Jacob Emanuel told JC Sport: "After a quality first half where we completely controlled play, we’ve let ourselves down in the second half and almost paid the price for it."

Daniel Vandemolen grabbed Fortune's goal and manager Simon Linden told JC Sport: "We was very unlucky to not come away with a point after a very good second half. Considering the fact that this was the first real chance I have been able to the get this new-look Fortune side together I cannot complain. We battled hard, didn’t give in and pushed them all the way. Hertswood are one of the favourites and we was unlucky, we will get better as the weeks go on."

DC Prediction: Vale 3 Fortune 1

SCRABBLE FC B 0 NORTH LONDON RAIDERS MASTERS 0

The battle of the Masters ended goalless at the Hive as Scrabble and Raiders claimed their first point of the season.

Scrabble player-manager Jon Yantin told JC Sport: "Good solid hard game underpinned by the masters on each side. A goalless draw was a fair result."
