Nyman was different class, says Jacobs

"He rolled back the years and there was a collective sigh of relief from the Camden defenders and keeper when he went off with job done after a man-of-the-match performance."

With the teams having registered a win apiece in the MGBSFL, Redbridge went determined to make home advantage count.

Jacobs commented: "Camden have been the bogey team for Redbridge in the last couple of seasons, halting our title march last season with a rugged 3-3 draw and this season, they beat us also in the league  with another rugged performance. We knew what to expect this time."

A scrappy opening goal from Nyman "was probably against the run of play at that stage," according to Jacobs, but the second "was a thing of beauty" -,a  delightful lob that bounced just inside the goal.

Ben Sollosi, returning from paternity leave, was biting into tackles which showed "how much he had been missed in the last month". Jacobs added: "He still needs to learn how to take throw-on’s but the midfield was all the better for his inclusion."

Leading 2-0 at half-time, RJC scored a third from a through ball by the excellent Daniel Garfinkle. A marauding run by Ryan Cole saw the left-back cut back for and an excellent hat-trick goal by Nyman.

Camden were then reduced to 10 men after their left-back was sent off after insisting the goal was offside. This opened up space for Redbridge and though Camden scored a consolation via David Kanzen to make it 3 1.

Nyman wasn’t finished however, scoring his fourth with a good run and passed finish.

The floodgates were now open with a first goal from Nate Kashket, a well-deserved Hazard-run and finish from Garfinkle and a tap-in for Sam Sollosi from a great pullback cross from Matt Berkley

RJC boss Jon Jacobs told JC Sport; "We knew what to expect this time and let the ball do the talking in this cup quarter-final."

Camden Park player-manager Max Saunders told JC Sport: "It was an exremely frustrating game, where we dominated the first half but due to two lapses in concentration, we went into half time 2-0 down. An unecessary sending off early in the second half left us up against it even more, but after going 3-0 down shortly after, we managed to pull one back. Rebdridge's fourth was clearly offside, just as we were getting some momentum, which put the game to bed and we pretty much stopped playing after that.

"We simply don't score when we are on top and when you come up against a team like Redbridge who have players up front that only need a sniff to score, you're always going to struggle.

"I have to say though, in spite of the end result, there were a number of outstanding performances on our team which somewhat tells the story of how the scoreline is deceiving. Johann Jordi helped dominate the midfield for large peiod of the game with Jake Saunders, Rob Hershkorn threatened whenever he was on the ball and Max Gordon dealt with the threat of Garfinkle very well whilst also showing quality on the ball.

"However Jake Saunders was arguably the top performer on both sides. When on form he is definately up there with the best and most talented in the league."
