JC QUOTE OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS

- SAM RANK (Redbridge JC B) - "The boys were brilliant today - they were asked to work for each other and they delivered emphatically. Overall the RJC B boys showed what they are about today, in all areas of pitch. We also had a few players returning and this was a big help"

- AVI MARKIEWICZ (Faithfold A) - "We were missing, Avi Mocton, Josh Wagner, Johnny Gahan, Ben Shirbini, Louis Naghten, Aaron Luftig , Dovi Vogel, David Kizneris and keeper Joseph Corin. We had a couple of B team players, a stand in Goalkeeper, many players out of poistion and only one sub. The fact we were the better team in the first half was a credit to my team"

- AARON DIAS (Fairlop FC) - "There is a lot of football still left to be played but that was a big step towards the title. Confidence is sky high and the boys are more committed than ever, Roll on the quarter-final next Sunday... I wonder what the Danny Caro pre match prediction will be 😉"

- BRANDON HAMME (Mill Hill Dons) - "our next game against FC Team is absolutely huge and could define our season. We got a result against them last time but they gave us a very good game in the process and we know we will have to be at our best"

- JEFF GOTCH (Catford & Bromley) - "We move on to Bayern next week, with 16 already confirmed, and it will be different to out 5-0 loss to them last time out. With Bayern, FC Team and Mill Hill Dons to play, I'm sure Fairlop will be happy about that because we always do well against the higher teams."

FAITHFOLD A 0 REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE B 5

Newly-crowned champions Faithfold A received a rude awakening when struggling Redbridge B put their league woes side to register a stunning 5-0 win at the Hive.

Deadly doubles from Faithfold old boy Dan Gordon and Jamie Bernstein, plus one from Carl Dobrin earned RJC their fifth win of the season and ended Faithfold's unbeaten record.

RJC acting-manager Sam Rank told JC Sport: "The boys were brilliant today - they were asked to work for each other and they delivered emphatically. Overall the RJC B boys showed what they are about today, in all areas of pitch."

Faithfold player-manager Avi Markiewicz told JC Sport: "Unfortunately in the second half several factors told; we were missing, Avi Mocton, Josh Wagner, Johnny Gahan, Ben Shirbini, Louis Naghten, Aaron Luftig, Dovi Vogel, David Kizneris and keeper Joseph Corin. We had a couple of B-team players, a stand-in goalkeeper, many players out of poistion and only one sub."

Fairlop manager Aaron Dias told JC Sport: "What a day! What a result! It was a great day for all players and fans of this wonderful football club. Today should once again showed what Fairlop Football Club is all about. Pure grit, determination, passion and a little bit of quality won us that football game."

Dons boss Brandon Hamme told JC Sport: "We don’t feel too disheartened with some more match fitness under our belt and some returning faces I believe we can give Fairlop a good game once again next time round, and hopefully this time pick up a result."

NORTH LONDON RAIDERS C 0 CATFORD & BROMLEY MACCABI 0

Defences dominated as mid-table rivals Raiders C and Catford shared the points after a goalless draw.

Raiders boss Sam Rose told JC Sport: "It was a game where all three results were possible right until the end in what became a bad-tempered match. I felt the referee got the key decisions right and on another day we could and should have won the game, had we controlled the midfield slightly better."

Cats player-manager Jeff Gotch disagreed with Rose's synopis and told JC Sport: "We bossed the game from start to finish, hit the post the bar and I couldn’t hit a barn door right now!"

BARRY GOLSTEIN TROPHY PRELIMINARY ROUND

TEMPLE FORTUNE A 2 LOS BLANCOS 1

A double from Ben Bhogel helped Temple Fortune come from a goal down to beat Los Blancos at Silver Jubilee Park.

Following the news that the MGBSFL have decided to scrap the Supplementary Cup, Simon Linden's men ended a run of 10 matches without a victory against the Cyril Anekstein Cup semi-finalists in the revamped Barry Goldstein Trophy - of which FC Team are the holders after winnin the competition in season 2014/15.

The visitors forged ahead in the first half but Fortune rallied superbly, with Bhogel equalising. Home goalkeeper Lee Fegan kept them on level terms with a great penalty save, before Bhogel popped up to score the goal that saw Fortune win for the first time since October 1.

Delighted Fortune boss Simon Linden commented: "It was a good win, and very overdue! An excellent performance from everyone. I asked the squad of 13 to put in a massive shift and not one player failed."
