JC GOAL OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS:

- DAVID DINKIN (NL Raiders B) - GOAL 1 - finished off a flowing move following a breathless interchange of passing with Elliot Espinoza

- DAVID ESTERKIN (NL Raiders B) - found by an excellent pass from Rob Blackman and showed excellent composure and technique to side foot in a lofted finish from distance over the goalkeeper

- SIMON BUCHLER  (NL Raiders B) - Dinkin, Espinoza and Buchler were involved in a goal that tore through Scrabble. Dinkin and Espinoza worked their way down the left exchanging passes before Espinoza worked his way across the area and laid the ball off for Buchler to hit low and hard into the corner

MITCH YOUNG (FC Team) - 25 yards out received a square pass flicked it up then kneed the ball up before volleying over the keeper

- AKIVA FINK (Bayern Mincha) - struck it sweetly on the half-volley 25 yards out into the bottom corner to score his fourth of the season.

- GAVRIEL NUSSBAUM (Bayern Mincha) - an absolute screamer from 40 yards which looped over a helpless keeper

- DAVID LEIWY (Faithfold A) - cut in, cut out and then did it all again, he finally came inside past the centre-back before delightfully chipping it over the keeper into the top corner from the edge of the box

- JOSH CUBY (Oakwood A) - another 30-yard pile-driver dipped over the keeper and into the net

JC SAVE OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS:

- BEN LAW (NL Raiders B) - "had just one save to make but in typical Law fashion it was a high quality save he had no right to make"

--------------------

--------------------

JC QUOTE OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS:

- RAFI ADDLESTONE (Real Hendon) -  "Three wins on the bounce and the Bees are flying high. We held our own today against a strong and experienced Catford side in difficult conditions. Left side pairing Gali Kolt and Zvi Noe stepped up to the plate today - what they both lack in stature, they made up in sheer guts. Bravo to the lads!"

- DORON SALOMON (Scrabble FC) - "As a former Scrabble man, I hope they can turn things around and avoid regulation"

- JACOB EMANUEL (Hertswood Vale) - "Danny [Hirschberger] spoke of the quality on show from Fairlop - an absolutely deserved win and I wish them all the best for the rest of the season. Although MH Dons look to be running away with the league, I notice that they have yet to play Fairlop...i'm sure those two games will give the Dons an idea of what they could face should they get promoted next season. I will also take this opportunity to say how refreshing it was to see Fairlop win so magnanimously in their post-match comments...perhaps Bayern Mincha could learn a thing or two from Aaron Dias and co"

HENDON UNITED SPORTS 2 MACCABI LONDON LIONS BLUE 0

Moses Seitler and Yoav Kestenbaum struck as Hendon United finished the weekend in second place after beating Lions Blue 2-0.

Hendon boss Greg Corin told JC Sport: "The game should have been put to bed early in the match with us creating countless chances but we struggled to hit the back of the net. It created some nervy moments but in the end we were deserved winners and it would have been a travesty if we would have dropped points."

Lions manager Sam Marchant told JC Sport: “Hendon are probably the best football playing side in the league and we knew that going in to the game, and set up a game-plan which was actually extremely effective."

Brady's goals came via Charlie Kasler and top-scorer Reiss Mogilner. Craig fired the winner in a grandstand finish which saw home goalkeeper Jordan Sharifian sent off.

Stand-in Lions manager Will Beresford told JC Sport: "It was an excellent team performance from Lions, much improved from last week."

Brady boss Joel Nathan told JC Sport: "We may have blown our league chances but still have great hopes in both cups, and that starts next week when we travel to Manchester for a Morrison cup game."

Oakwood joint-manager Dan Kristall told JC Sport: "This was an excellent display and win from our guys. We were superb from the first minute."

NLR manager Dan Shafron told JC Sport: "This is a game we have to forget quickly. To go 1-0 after one minute from misjudgement put us on the back foot immediately and against a side like Oakwood, it’s not something you can afford to do."

Oakwood B's promotion hopes were dealt a blow in front of the JC cameras, as Alex Aviram and Mitch Hahn fired Redbridge C to their fourth triumph of the season.

RJC right-back Martin Sales commented: "It was really was a game of two halves. We took a while to get going but once we do we can mix it with the best. I’m proud of the boys."

Oakwood boss Jason Stein told JC Sport: "While I feel we were incredibly short-changed with a loss I’ll stay upbeat as the manner of the performance was overwhelmingly positive, especially at the back where we more or less kept Mitch Hahn - a special player - quiet enough. Onto Raiders B.”

FAITHFOLD A 7 LOS BLANCOS 0

BEN SHIRBINI (3) was the star man as Faithfold A maintained their four-point advantage, finishing in seventh heaven against Los Blancos.

Man-of-the-match Leor Harel, David Leiwy, Avi Markiewicz and super-sub David Kizneris completed the rout at the Hive.

Faithfold player-manager Avi Markiewicz told JC Sport: "This was an outstanding performance all round by all 15 players, including goalkeeper Joseph Corin who hasn’t featured since featured since the opening game against L'Equipe and finally made his way back from shopping in Bicester. The win was built on a defence that were solid and a unit."

NORTH LONDON RAIDERS B 7 SCRABBLE FC 0

DAVID DINKIN was the hat-trick hero as Raiders B bolstered their promotion challenge with a handsome 7-0 win over freefalling Scrabble.

NLR's sixth win of the season was completed by efforts from Dave Esterkin, Jake Gilbert, Anthony Goodmaker and substitute Simon Buchler.

NLR joint-manager Doron Salomon told JC Sport: "There was added pressure this week: to pick up from where we'd left off but also to set the record straight after our previous game against Scrabble."

Disappointed Scrabble boss Ray Abrahams told JC Sport: "To give Raiders three or four more goals on a plate, through some crazy errors at the back, we find ourselves six or seven down. They must have thought it was birthday time!"

HERTSWOOD VALE 0 FAIRLOP FC 10

Boosted by the arrival of Daniel Garfinkle from Redbridge A, Fairlop FC produced their Sunday best to register their biggest win since joining the MGBSFL.

DANIEL ROSEN fired a treble in the 10-0 demolition of Hertswood Vale. Adam Goldman, Kai Vale, Matt Berkley, Aaron Dias, Brad Gayer, Ryan Cole and Daryl Rubin accounted for the other goals for a Fairlop team who finished the weekend in seventh spot.

Jubiliant Fairlop manager Aaron Dias told JC Sport: "We were in control of the game. It was great to see three debutants today - Guy Weisselberg and Mitch Gold returning from injury and Daniel Garfinkle making his first appearance since signing for us last Thursday. On to next Sunday, Lions Vets in the last 16 of the Peter Morrison Trophy."

Hertswood joint-manager Jacob Emanuel told JC Sport: "We didn't turn up and got battered by a team that deserves to skip promotion straight to the Prem in the summer."

Delighted Dons boss Brandon Hamme told JC Sport: "The pitch conditions weren't ideal but we still managed to get the ball down and play some great football."

Fortune joint-manager Darren Zitren told JC Sport: "The scoreline doesn’t reflect the game and the fantastic effort from our lads today. Full credit to MH Dons as they took their chances."
