CYRIL ANEKSTEIN CUP FINAL

Hendon United Sports vs Oakwood

Venue: Rowley Lane, April 29

YOUR WEEKEND PREVIEW STARTS HERE:

PETER MORRISON TROPHY ROUND THREE

REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE A 12 REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE B 2

Super siblings NATHAN SOLLOSI (5) and SAM SOLLOSI (4) took centre stage as Redbridge A made a huge statement of intent with a double-digit win over their B team to storm into round four of the Jewish FA Cup.

Further strikes from Nate Kashket (2) and Scott Oldstein added the gloss for the top-flight team, who join Fairlop FC, Haroldeans, Maccabi London Lions White, Maccabi Manchester 1st, Maccabi Manchester 2nd, North London Raiders A in the fourth round draw.

Dan Gordon and Yoni Fialka replied for RJC B.

RJC A joint-manager Jon Jacobs told JC Sport: "It was a very professional performance. We showed the B team lots of respect - they were so organised and worked so hard for the first 30 minutes but the Sollosi boys were too much of a handful for them."

DC Prediction: Redbridge A 2 Redbridge B 1

-------------------------------

-------------------------------

CATFORD & BROMLEY MACCABI 2 MACCABI LONDON LIONS WHITE 7

Lions White finished in seventh heaven against the Cats, with Adam Arnold (2), Ollie Craig (2), Jamie Cohen (2) and Sam Hammerton doing the damage.

Catford's goals came via a 30-yard thunderbolt from Lioz Tov and a header from recent arrival Jamie Kent.

Catford boss Jeff Gotch told JC Sport: "I could not be prouder of my team. I had nine players out and two players making their first appearance of the season. Lions were the better team but bar two mistakes in the first half, it would have been 1-0 at half-time, which would have been no less than we deserved. But being 3-0 we knew it was tough - and the bizarre penalty awarded to them early in the second half left virtually everyone at the ground scratching their heads. So 4-0 down with 40 to play - well we drew that 40 minutes 2-2 and yes our goalie made loads of top-class saves but my boys worked hard battled well and did me proud."

DC Prediction: Catford 0 Lions 5

CYRIL ANEKSTEIN CUP SEMI-FINALS

BRADY MACCABI 2 HENDON UNITED SPORTS 3

Reiss Mogilner accounted for both Brady goals.

Jubilant boss Greg Corin told JC Sport: "This has to be my most pleasing win as Hendon manager. Apart from the fact we booked our place in the Anekstein final, this was a performance of hard work, competing for the ball as a team and scoring team goals."

Brady manager Joel Nathan told JC Sport: "The boys did themselves proud today and no-one could walk off that pitch without saying they didn't put a shift in."

LOS BLANCOS 0 OAKWOOD 1

A first-half strike from Leor Sidle was enough to send league leaders Oakwood into the final at the expense of first division Los Blancos.

Oakwood joint-manager Dan Kristall told JC Sport: "It was a tough game in difficult windy conditions. Credit to our visitors who battled well and stayed in the game."

FC TEAM 2 BAYERN MINCHA 2

Bayern Mincha moved five points clear at the top but they were unable to secure maximum points after a fierce battle against third-place FC Team, for whom player-manager Mitch Young and Richard Salmon registered.

FC Team's Mitch Young told JC Sport: "We were the better team and should have won. We created a number of clear-cut opportunities in the first half and the game should have been out of sight. However, with Adam Ellis, they were always a threat and out of the three chances that they created all game, he scored two of them. Without him it would have been very comfortable but there you go. The football we played in the first half was excellent and we enjoyed the game."

Bayern joint-manager Alon Pinhas told JC Sport: "A good Sunday league scrap overall, with some questionable refereeing and interesting WWE auditions from the FC Team boys. Good luck to our opposition for the rest of the season though."

NORTH LONDON RAIDERS C 3 FAITHFOLD B 2

North London Raiders C returned to the top six as they won a five-goal thriller against Faithfold to seal their sixth win of the season, courtesy of strikes from Nick Haringman, Adam Levenson and Ben Kaye.

Faithfold led 2-1 after 80 minutes via a well-worked goal by Zalmi Cohen for the first and an outstanding shot from 30 yards out looping by youngster Gav Lewis.

Raiders boss Sam Rose told JC Sport: “After a really difficult and inconsistent season for Raiders C, this was an indication of what we can do when we pull together and do the simple things right."

TEMPLE FORTUNE B 1 STRAW HAT PIRATES 3

Straw Hat Pirates clinched their first win of 2018 as they over-powered Temple Fortune B 3-1 with strikes from Jono Nesbitt, Sam Georgevic and leading marksman Aron Gale.

Pirates boss Elliot Cukier told JC Sport: "It has been a tough few weeks for the Straw Hats. Results haven't gone our way and after dominating a poor Hertswood Vale last week, but letting the three chances they had all game go in, we knew we had a point to prove today."
