TEAM OF THE SEASON

GOALKEEPER:

RUSSELL CORIN (Hendon Utd) - Hendon’s Gianluigi Buffon. Part of the old guard and after so many brilliant seasons for Hendon – for whom he has won every domestic trophy - finished the season with another league winners’ medal

DEFENDERS:

ALEX TAYLOR (ML Lions White) - Another fantastic season for the Peter Morrison Trophy winners. He’s king of the heroic slide-tackle, which ironically has proven to be his Achilles heel

ADAM MYEROFF (London Lions) - the senior statesman of the squad was the wise, old head at the back of a Lions defence who beat league champions Southall to win the cup final. Was often marking players half his age, but gave as good as he got. Tremendous fitness levels combined with excellent reading of the game

MAX FREEDMAN (Fairlop FC) - 20-year-old joined the club as a squad player but quickly made the centre-back position his own. Forced his way into the team on the back of a strong pre-season, and didn’t look back. Enjoyed some fantastic performances, notably the Peter Morrison Trophy win over Lions Vets, including an incredible goal-line clearance. Chipped in with five goals

MIDFIELDERS:

JOSH CUBY (Oakwood A) - Gibraltarian winger with mesmerising skills. The MGBSFL’s answer to Leroy Sane. Saved his best for the Cyril Anekstein Cup final, scoring a brace, including an amazing individual solo effort that started inside the Oakwood half

LOUIE BASSO (Manchester Maccabi) - midfield general took no prisoners in the Chesham League. An important figure in two good cup runs. The heartbeat of the team

DAVID LEIWY (Faithfold A) - twinkle-toed wingers left defenders tied in knots. A superb team player, a willing run, always produced an end product be it an assist or a goal. Impressed every time I watched him

BRAD GAYER (Fairlop FC) - captain marvel, Fairlops go-to man. The stats speak for themselves - 16 goals and 18 assists in just 22 games. Led the team on and off the field and delivered in the big moments. His sensational long-range wonder goal against Raiders in the cup was pure genius

STRIKERS:

ADAM SHIFFMAN (Haroldeans) - narrowly missed out on the MJSL Golden Boot but was a key player in the push for the treble.  A natural finisher who doesn’t need an invitation to shoot.

ADAM ELLIS (Bayern Mincha) - Golden Boot winner with 31 goals in league and cup, he was the player that no defender wanted to play against. Took players on for fun and was a match-winner on a regular basis

ZAC LEWIS (Hendon Utd) - technically out on his own in the MGBSFL. A video collection of Zac’s goals would be outstanding at any level. Has brought consistency and hard work to his game this season and is a real handful to play against. Embarrasses the opposing defenders at times with his level of ability and a standout performer

PLAYER OF THE SEASON: Zac Lewis (Hendon Utd)

MANAGER: Avi Markiewicz (Faithfold A)

GOLDEN GLOVES: Russell Corin (Hendon Utd)

GOLDEN BOOT: Adam Ellis (Bayern Mincha)

MGBSFL PREMIER DIVISION

1. RUSSELL CORIN (Hendon Utd) - Hendon’s Gianluigi Buffon. Part of the old guard and after so many brilliant seasons for Hendon – for whom he has won every domestic trophy - finished the season with another league winners’ medal

2. DANIEL BEHAR (ML Lions Blue) - 24-yard-old vice-captain and right-back. Runner-up in the Players Player of the Year, and is arguably the most committed squad member, and a managers dream. Gives 110 per cent every match, has an engine on him that even N’golo Kante would be proud of and has an abundance of quality in both defending and attacking

3. MORDI WEILER (Hendon Utd) -  his first full season for Hendon and what a great year for Mordy. Arrived as a squad player and has held down the left-back spot and made it his own. Defends brilliantly, has great energy and contributes with vital goals and assists.

4. AVI KORMAN (Hendon Utd) - all action hero. A tremendous player, an athlete, super tackles, wins headers, plays killer passes and scores great goals. Everything you would want from a footballer and despite a season with some injuries, Avi’s been a big contributor to the team’s success both on and off the field. Avi is the future.

5. ED BRAFMAN (ML Lions Blue) - 24-year-old captain fantastic and centre-back, voted Players' Player of the Year, was superb all season. He was ever-present throughout the campaign and put his body on the line week-in week-out to ensure that minimal goals were conceded. He has now captained the side for three seasons which has resulted in back-to-back promotions and a third-placed finish in the first season in the top-flight

6. BRAD WINE (Oakwood A) - look away and he’s gone - literally. Bradley is the heartbeat of this Oakwood side - an ever-present who gets the side going week in week out. Enjoyed his boxing debut recently (we feel for the poor lad who had to face him - he stood absolutely no chance!) Most like: Kyle Walker meets Conor McGregor

7. ARI LAST (Hendon Utd A) - despite his best sprinting times being firmly behind him, Ari is the complete midfielder. Captain fantastic. Leads the team brilliantly on the pitch, sets the tone with his incredibly competitive nature. The guy is a born winner, anything less than 100 per cent is unacceptable. Hardly ever has a bad game and always performs on the big occasions

8. REISS MOGILNER (Brady Maccabi) - another prolific season for Reiss, scored against every team he faced this season

10. LEOR SIDLE (Oakwood A) - Mr Consistent. Most appearances of any Oak. Joint leading scorer and improved as the season progressed. Great player

11. ZAC LEWIS (Hendon Utd)  technically out on his own in the MGBSFL. A video collection of Zac’s goals would be outstanding at any level. Has brought consistency and hard work to his game this season and is a real handful to play against. Embarrasses the opposing defenders at times with his level of ability and a standout performer

STAR MAN: Zac Lewis (Hendon)

MGBSFL DIVISION ONE

1. BEN LAW (NL Raiders B) - still one of the best in the MGBSFL. Always guarantees you an extra 10 to 12 points a season

2. AVI GARSON (Faithfold A) - Mr Versatile, excelled with his creativity in midfield and did what his manager asked of him when moving to defence. Superb use of the ball and close control. Excellent reader of the game

3. JONNY LEIWY (Faithfold A) - Mr Consistent in the title-winning defence

4. BEN LOOFE (Oakwood B) - has the most brilliant football brain. Totally committed to the cause, eye for a long ball, tough tackling but equally comfortable on the ball

5. MAX CLYNES (Oakwood B) - definitely one for most improved. Has cut out the silly mental errors and has become a defensice rock. Even chipping in with goals

6. DAVID LEIWY (Faithfold A) - twinkle-toed wingers left defenders tied in knots. A superb team player, a willing run, always produced an end product be it an assist or a goal. Impressed every time I watched him

7. SVI FREEDMAN (Los Blancos) - had an influential first half of the season, with regular mentions on When Sunday Comes, and the star man for Blancos

8. JAMES FRENER (Oakwood B) - Best CM in the league, according to Jason Stein. Master passer, animal in the tackle and a very smart boy postionally.

9. JAKE GILBERT (NL Raiders B) - top-scorer in the division, a key factor in L'Orange finishing as runners-up

10. OLI SADE (Los Blancos) - a regular goal-getter, Oli finished the season on a real high, with four goals at the European Maccabi Football Trophy in Budapest

11. DAN GORDON (Redbridge B) - where would RJC B be without his goals? Division Two, probably!

STAR MAN: David Leiwy (Faithfold A)

MGBSFL DIVISION TWO

1. Jake Sanders (Fairlop FC) - every successful team needs a top keeper and Sanders was just that in a team that boasted the league's best defensive record

2. JOSH CINNA (Mill Hill Dons) - industrial at the back, his arrival in the summer saw the Dons improve massively defensively this season. He got the better of many of the top quality strikers in the division and has started off many attacks from the back. Despite playing at centre back, he also has set up more goals than anyone else in our team with 10 for the season

3. GALI KOLIT (Real Hendon) - solid left-back who played week in week out and rarely made any mistakes whilst his marauding bursts, trusty left foot and Rory Delap throws provided an extremely useful attacking threat

4. GAVRIEL NUSSBAUM (Bayern Mincha) - an absolute rock at the back. He's played every game as if it's a final and has put everything he's got in him on the pitch and hasn't let his team-mates down at any point

5. MAX FREEDMAN (Fairlop FC) - his performance of the season came in front of the JC cameras, when the east Londoners sent Lions Masters tumbling out of the Jewish FA Cup

6. JOE METLISS (Real Hendon) - as the season progressed, Joe matured beyond his years and bossed the midfield creating numerous goals and chances for the team. Definite candidate for Young Player of the Season, at only 18 years of age

8. LAURENCE BLOOM (Catford & Bromley) - Moving into the latter stages of his illustrious MSFL career ‘ Lozy ‘ as he is know by him team-mates never lets the team down and rarely puts a foot wrong

9. MITCH YOUNG (FC Team) - 25 goals voted Players Player of the Year

10. ADAM ELLIS (Bayern Mincha) - Golden Boot winner with 31 goals in league and cup, he was the player that no defender wanted to play against. Took players on for fun and was a match-winner on a regular basis

11. ZACH COHEN (Mill Hill Dons) - has somehow managed to top his goal-scoring record from last season scoring an incredible 25 goals in just 18 games. He has also picked up eight assists along the way. He is every defender's nightmare, his pace and quick feet can be impossible to deal with and his clinical eye for goal has kept keepers busy all season

STAR MAN: Adam Ellis (Bayern Mincha)
