PETER MORRISON TROPHY ROUND TWO

LOS CAMDEN A 2 NORTH LONDON RAIDERS 1

Raiders approached the game "like a cup final," according to a Los Camden source, and that showed, with neither team able to gain full control in a well-contested first half that ended goalless.

The game sparked to life in the second half when clever Raiders play in the middle of the park released top-scorer Aron Gale behind the Camden back line to slot under the onrushing keeper.

However, as shown countless times this season, Camden tapped into their never-say-die attitude. Captain Johaan Jordi whipped in a free-kick into the box which was met by the onrushing Gav Krieger who headed home powerfully into the bottom corner from seven yards. Instead of celebrating, Camden grabbed the ball feeling momentum had swung their way as they searched for a winner.

Camden keeper Steven Murad then needed to be alert to keep out an effort from Gale, producing one of the saves of the season. Moments later, Camden settled the tie when neat play with Joseph Levi and Oli Sade in the middle of the park saw the latter dink a through ball over the Raiders back-line where the onrushing  Nusenbaum provided an audacious lob over the keeper to send Camden through to the last eight.

Los Camden boss Stirling Kay told JC Sport: "I'm happy with the result and the fight the boys showed but we were far from our best today.

"The boys know they are capable of better performances which they have showed throughout the season. Having said that, they had a few chances and our finishing was not up to scratch.

"Raiders were unlucky today and if not for an in-form Steven Murad, they might have come away from the game with much more.

"Even so, Camden are back where we belong. We are now in the final eight of both cup competitions and hope to give the fans a season to remember."
