HENDON UNITED SPORTS 6 LOS CAMDEN A 1

The win today seemed straightforward, despite Los Camden scoring first. Fehler started the comeback with an equaliser before defender Simon Peterman sent Hendon into half-time 2-1 up, and they dominated from there.

Fehler completed his treble with two second-half strikes, and then Rocky Spitzer scored a great free-kick, with the final word going to Moses Seitler late on.

Victorious Hendon boss Jordan Sapler told JC Sport: "Well, we’ve done what we set out to do. Double winners!

"I’m so proud of every single member of my squad, we’ve worked extremely hard this season and despite having a squad so depleted with injuries that we’ve had 11-13 men for most of the season we’ve consistently and constantly played some lovely football and ground out results."

And with Maccabi London Lions drawing 1-1 with HMH, Hendon United clinched the title with two games to spare.

Sapler continued: "Credit to the boys today, we had 11 men, players playing out of position such as Chaim Korman at left-back, but they all performed.

"They’ve been a pleasure to manage this season and we’re going to enjoy our last two games, before starting to concentrate on next season.”

Camden boss Stirling Kay told JC Sport: "Today was a tough game, with three players not turning up before kickooff we had to play the champions elect with 10 men.

"Whereas the absentees were let us down, I cannot fault the determination and efforts of the players that played. We went ahead and bar a 15-minute spell where we conceded the majority of the goals we were tough to play against.

"This had a very end of the season feel to it, with one team having something to play for and the other not. It’s unfortunate the way our season has unfolded in the last month but we can take pride in how far we’ve progressed this season with everyone writing us off at the start. We will finish this season strongly and look to build for next season to be more consistent throughout.

"Congradulations to Hendon who were most consistent team throughout, the league is won through keeping your best players fit and available and they have done so."
