Zubari: My Olympic nightmare

articlemain

Shahar Zubari reflected on a disappointing Olympics where he finished 19th overall in the Men’s RS:X competition.

“I had a really rough week,” said Zubari, who won Israel’s only medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. “My performance doesn’t reflect my true ability and it is a shame that this happened to me on the biggest stage.

Zubari had two highlights at the Games. He carried Israel’s flag at the Opening Ceremony and won the 10th race of the Windsurfing competition.

“I did everything I could and I have no regrets as I’m pretty tired after a long season," he said.

"Sometimes in sport, especially in the water, there are ups and downs. The conditions were very tough here in Weymouth but I will learn from the experience.”
