The Maccabi Junior Football League gets under way on Sunday with 48 teams battling it out for silverware.

Players will be divided across five age groups, from Under 7s to Under 11s.

Highgate & Muswell Hill have entered 20 teams into the various divisions with Alyth Belsize (5), Brady Maccabi (5), Hendon United (11), North West London Jets, London Maccabi Lions and Redbridge completing the line-up.

The league has added a new venue with a state-of-the-art 3G surface at the Wembley Ark Academy this season, to be used in unison with Barnet FC's training academy, The Hive

League chairman Laurence Thorne said: "Our league is going from strength to strength. We can now offer seven-a-side football for Under 7, Under 8, Under 9 and Under 10, as well as nine-a-side football for our Under 11 section.

"We aim to place qualified referees on all games, apart from Under 7s, this at a time where many leagues are struggling to allocate referees.

"My committee will be working tirelessly to ensure the season proceeds smoothly and we look forward to an exciting season ahead, both in league games and cup matches."

Players will also get the opportunity to play Representative matches in all age groups at the end of the season.

Players looking to join the league should contact primarynationalfootball@yahoo.com.
