WOODFORD WANDERERS 1 SOUTHGATE HARMEN 3

Alex Bowman, Mitch Green and wonder kid Ben Henry were the marksmen as Southgate Harmen stunned leaders Woodford into submission.

After a long drive to Essex and an early kick-off, Harmen could have easily not been at there best. However every player 1-12 had a great game.

Harmen went ahead thanks to a well-taken goal by Alex Bowman after great wing play by Ricky Rinder on the left.

After that Harmen were in complete control of the game, however Woodford were award a very soft penalty just before half time and made it 1-1.

During the half time teamtalk Harmen regrouped and refocused and came out all guns blazing. Soon after Harmen went 2-1 up after a bullet header from centre back Mitch Green.

From then on Harmen were in complete control of the game and they sealed the deal with five minutes to go with a wonder strike from 18-year-old Ben Henry. He got the ball 30 yards out and unleased a thunder bolt of a shot leaving the keeper no chance.

Harmen joint-player-manager Samuel Castle told JC Sport: "The whole team were up for the game today in difficult circumstances. We played great football and showed what we are really made of.

"Woodford are top of the league and we took them to the cleaners.

"This result sets a real benchmark for us and sends out a huge message to the rest of the league, we won't get carried away though and keep working hard to get better."
