Wingate on a roll

Wingate and Finchley have won the Under 18 County Cup.

Keeper Charlie Gould, David Smouha, Liron Mannie and Seb Garber were in the team who beat Forest United Youth 4-3 at North Greenford United Stadium.

Garber opened the scoring following a great ball in by Smouha. The same player also squeezed home number three before United pulled it back to 3-2 at the interval.

A stunning solo effort in the second half from Mannie sealed the tie.

Wingate Under 18 manager Keith Garber said: "Considering this team has been together for barely one season, the achievement was outstanding. I am so proud of all the players. They worked tirelessly, created many chances throughout the game, and when necessary defended superbly against a very strong and direct team.

"Self belief helped them through this tournament and they all deserve the accolades that come with winning such a prestigious competition."
