Adam Wilson's five-goal blitz helped Reich Insurance Rangers Blue pile on the misery for rock-bottom South Manchester Sports 3rd.

Reich Blue maintained their charge towards the top of the table by inflicting the season's heaviest defeat on their struggling hosts.

And co-manager Stuart Delmonte admitted it was perfect preparation for Sunday's big clash with leaders Haroldeans.

Delmonte said: "It has taken a bit of time, and there's been the odd setback on the way, but we are coming together as a group. The club is moving forward.

"We lost 3-0 against a strong Haroldeans team earlier this season. But we were missing some important players. Now we are not depleted and we expect it to be a different game. They are unbeaten and have won every match but we will be looking to change that."

Wilson was in deadly form, with Ben Gardner and Gary Freedman weighing in with a brace apiece. Andy Rosenberg also got on the scoresheet in this rout.

Delmonte, who is in joint charge with Tony Rosenberg, says it's taken time to adapt to his new surroundings after the pair left AFC Flixton in the summer.

He added: "I've had to change my way of thinking. It's a different set-up and club, at a different level, and I can't expect as much from certain players. I expected too much, too soon. But we are both enjoying the experience."
