Wienburg named Belmont & Edgware's top player

Richie Wienburg is Belmont & Edgware's Player of the Season.

The all-rounder won the club's 1st XI award in his last season before moving overseas.

BECC's Ryan Monk said: "The club will miss Richie, who was a great servant over the years. He will be missed by all and we wish him all the best for future."

Held at the Aviv restaurant in Edgware, the annual prize-giving ceremony saw 1st XI team skipper Warren Averbuch and 2nd team captain Ryan Monk present their respect reports.

The 2nd XI Player of the Year accolade went to Adam Jacobs.

David Kaplan was awarded The Richard Ableson trophy for Most Improved Player at the club.

The young player of the year was given to Oskar Hollinsworth.

Neil Myeroff was bowler of the year, and Jon Evans was named batsmen of the year.

The last award of the evening was for the Clubman of year. This award went to 1st team captain Warren Averbuch. After been thrown into the deep end after former skipper Ashley Connick had to hand in his notice due to work commitments. After having trouble with his duties at first, Averbuch was commended for growing into the role and making it his own.
