Modiin produced one of their best performances of the season to claim an impressive 7-1 victory over former league champions England FC.

Modiin were looking to close the gap on leaders MS Bambi, while England were looking to recover from a rocky start, but they were soon on the back-foot as a great through ball from Itai Saidoff found Amichai Friedman who fired home.

England's hopes were dealt another blow on nine minutes after they were reduced to 10 men following a red card, but they created a number of chances and forced Modiin keeper Ran Hazon into several fine saves.

Joni Reiner gave Modiin a two-goal cushion with a great strike, but England stepped up a gear and pulled one back.

Modiin responded well and a clinical finish from new boy Yonatan Journo, their second new signing from Athletico, gave them a 3-1 lead at half-time.

England moved the ball around well at the start of the second half, but it was Modiin who were to score next, with Matan Kroizer's cross from the left met on the volley by Reiner

Modiin continued to push and a great 1-2 ended with Kroizer converting majestically to make it 5-1.

Further strikes from Adi Meiyuri and Beni Sragif - the youngest player on the pitch - completed the rout in a contest where England lost their heads in the last 25 minutes, with two more red cards leaving them with eight men.
