Israeli teenage sensation Laetitia Beck has joined Duke University's prestigious Blue Devils golf squad.
The 18-year-old, who has been coached at the Caesarea Club in northern Israel, was selected to join Israel's premier sports university, whose squads are coined Blue Devils because they produce some of the finest college sports people in the US.
Beck, who holds the number two ranking among US-based female youth players and the number six ranking among all US female golf players, recently turned 18, meaning that she is eligible to enter the women's majors, including the US Open, as well as playing college tournaments.
Having recently completed a year at a golf academy in Florida, Beck begins her studies at Duke University in North Carolina next month.
As an Israeli citizen she is eligible for IDF service, but has agreed to fit it in around her sporting commitments. She has been recognised by the IDF as a sports prodigy - alongside the likes of Ben Sahar and Shahar Peer - meaning she can go on with her plans in the US, and return to Israel for military service during her breaks.
