Taylor tears into Croxley

articlemain

BECC were missing a substantial number of regulars, but still managed a 50-run victory over Croxley, thanks to great performances by Elliot Mayer and Simon Taylor.

The Mayer (Elliott and Phil) partnership did not come off on this occasion, but Elliot was dropped by the keeper while still in single figures and it proved to be costly for Croxley as he went on to get to his 50 off 70 deliveries and stayed unbeaten on 88.

Taylor’s 53 helped BECC to their total of 191-5 and he then went on to take a superb four wickets for just six runs including four maidens, as Croxley were dismissed for 141.

Manchester lost by just five runs to Foresters when they could only manage three singles off the final over.

Foresters set them a target of 218 for victory and Akiva Lieberman took the home bowling to task, hitting fours sixes and four fours in his 55, while David Cohen hit 36, Shaia Rabinovitz 31, Huddy Lieberman 35 and Steve Glicher 28.

But the it was a bridge too far when Lieberman was run out off the first ball off the final over as he attempted to get on strike.
