Camden Park became the second JC MSFL team to clinch promotion after winning a five-goal thriller against title rivals Hendon B in West Hendon.

Strikes from Guy Marks, Luke Brookner and super-sub Josh Toff won a thriller against title rivals Hendon B in west Hendon.

The visitors forged ahead early one when Marks finished off a passing move that would not have looked out of place on the Barcelona training ground. ( See JC MSFL Goal of the Week contenders )

Hendon equalised from a free-kick before going into the break with a 2-1 advantage.

After a few tactical changes, Camden started the second half well and they were awarded a penalty which was won and cooly converted by influential midfielder Brooker to set up a grandstand finish. Hendon had Parys Hammond dismissed.

Brookner then turned provider for the winner as super-sub Toff nicked the winner from a set-piece.

Camden player-manager Josh Marks told JC Sport: "It was a great game. After going ahead I thought it was going to be our day.

"I was very impressed with team as they showed what this game meant to each and everyone of them.

"The boys played out of their skins and everyone gave 110 per cent."

"Although Guy Marks showed his class and was the driving force of our team for the entire 90 minutes, Luke Brookner gets my vote for the second week running as man of the match after his goal and two assists. He’s been a tremendous signing and played an important part in our last three games against Redbridge, Glenthorne and Hendon which has really been the crunch point in our push for promotion and title challenge.

"I'm very happy that we’ve achieved promotion but I will be much happier when we win the league."

Camden's Nick Kagan added: "Cometh the hour, cometh the men. Credit to the boys, they were fantastic and fully deserved the win. The physicality, desire and work-rate were up there with our best performances this season.

"Hendon clearly had something about them, and we knew we were still in the game. They fought back and went 2-1 shortly after the start of the second half. But we rallied, with Josh Mark's substitutions having considerable effect and fought back to get the win, with Luke Brookner the hub of every Camden attack.

"Josh Marks was tough in the tackle in central midfield, and his younger brother Guy ran his socks off up front, always providing an option and taking the pressure off the defence by holding the ball up.

"Promotion secured, we need to kick on and win the league, we want the silverware."
