Mike Myers believes FC Team C's stunning cup win over Premier Division Lions was fully deserved and he praised his troops after a memorable win at Rowley Lane.

Super-sub JEREMY JULIUS was their hat-trick hero as FC Team heaped more misery on a depleted Lions team, with his treble coming in extra-time.

The tie finish 1-1 after 90 minutes in a tale of woe for the Lions. They turned up with only 10 men, with an injured Ricky Kennet playing in goal to help them out. He sustained another injury just after half-time and had to come off. Despite now having to play with nine men and Lee Bibring bravely going in goal, Lions held them to 1-1 until extra time.

However, with Brad Lander now playing with a broken hand, Lions just had nothing left to offer and the flood gates opened in the second period of extra time, where FC Team went on to score three more to record a famous win.

Shim Bensoor (2) and James Joseph put the icing on the cake as the boys in yellow and blue recorded their best-ever result.

However, with Brad Lander now playing with a broken hand, we just had nothing left to offer and the flood gates opened in the second period of extra time.

Delighted FC Team joint-player-manager Mike Myers told JC Sport: "A great day for FC Team C, taking on Premiership opponents was always going to be tough, but we showed our quality today, especially in extra-time.

"We had a lot of chances, but couldn't break the deadlock in normal time. As soon as we scored one, Lions' heads dropped and we ran riot. It was a superb effort from the boys.

"The defence were solid today with Rob Sanford - Team's tower of strength - not allowing much through, but when Lions did get through, sweeper keeper Myers was there making some crucial saves including a one-on-one in the last minutes of normal time.

"The midfield and attack put in a superb shift, Shim Bensoor was rewarded with two goals for his efforts.

Super-sub Jeremy Julius may steal the headlines though. Coming on in extra-time, winning a penalty and then coolly dispatching it to put Team ahead and also keep manager Ben Gilbey's heart-rate down, whose passion was clear to see on the touchline.

"A great win for FC Team C and one for the history books."

Lions boss Eilon Kennet told JC Sport: "Full marks to everyone involved - heads never dropped and if early opportunities while still with 10 men were taken, we could still have won this game, an impossible task with eight."
