Super SPEC FC go third

    JC MSFL DIVISION FOUR
    SPEC FC 5 JEWVENTUS 0

Promotion-chasing SPEC FC had far to much on the day with goals from Ricky Lawrence, Jack Bookatz, Robert Murray, Craig Cohen and JC star man Dan Cohen taking them past Jewventus.

As the snow fell heavily over the Cinderella Hairena, SPEC ensured they ended the calendar year in true seasonal style with a Christmas cracker.

The Bananas began brightly and 20 minutes of assured pressure was duly rewarded with a goal. The ref blew for a reasonably soft penalty having spotted a shove on danger-man Rob Murray in the box. Ricky Lawrence kept as cool as the ice he had just scraped off of his car in smashing the spot kick home to give SPEC the early advantage.

Soon after, some excellent work from the Murray brothers down the right resulted in a fine cross and Jack Bookatz was on hand to make it 2-0. The tricky winger unleashed a formidable volley plucked out from the sky that absolutely snowman could have saved.

The second half continued in much the same vein as the first as almost immediately after kick off, Rob ‘The 12-Yard Assassin’ Murray lashed home a ferocious drive into the top corner.

Marc Hecht and stand-in skipper Ricky Lawrence continued to orchestrate play from the centre of the park, and were doing their best to give the freezing SPECtators an early Christmas gift.

And indeed the fans were left with a warm fuzzy feeling after enjoying Craig Cohen’s presence. The striker cleverly converting after a brilliant solo run by his namesake, Dan, to make it 4-0.

There was just enough time for Dan Cohen to cap an industrious display with the goal of the match. Starting his first match of the season after overcoming his injury hoodoo, latched onto a fine raking cross field cross from Bookatz to volley home. Majestic.

Jewventus would have been hoping to end their year with a winter warmer but were instead left out in the cold. Conversely, SPEC will be delighted heading into the New Year now knowing how to find the back of the net.

The blanket of snow forming on their Hatfield pitch along with some serious firepower in front of goal have extinguished any rumours that they will be in for Snood Van Nistelrooy and Vagner Glove in the January transfer window.

The only downside for the Bananas would have been Oli Levy picking up a slight injury. They are awaiting the scan results but early fears are of a pulled scarf muscle.
