Rising star Josh Stevens has been rewarded for an excellent season with a call-up for the Middlesex CC under-13 Winter Performance squad.

Stevens, who is 12 and lives in Bushey, was selected following a series of eye-catching displays for Stanmore and London Maccabi Vale.

The fast bowler will link up with the squad at the Middlesex Indoor School in Finchley in November.

He arrived in England from Australia in January, having played Representative cricket and been coached in
Sydney by Sam Robson and Tony Greig.

Josh, who also plays rugby for Saracens, recorded season-best figures of 5.2 -3-8-3 for the Performance squad.

He has also represented the Borough of Harrow and the Northern District of Middlesex at U13 level.

The talented all-round sportsman broke the JFS school record for ball-throwing with an effort of 63.03m.
