Special Kaye takes top award

articlemain

Faithfold midfielder Alex Kaye is my Player of the Month for September.

Kaye, the former MJSL Player of the Season, has helped propel the Superhoops to the top of the Premier Division with some whole-hearted displays in the midfield engine room.

He has also chipped in with three goals in his bid to lead the team to silverware this season.

Chigwell hotshot Glenn Michaels was the obvious choice in Division One after firing seven goals to take the team to the top of the table.

The top player in Division Two was more of a close-run thing. Right-sided midfielder Leo Feldman edged out teammate Guy Marks. One of the team’s only ever-presents so far, he has got an absolute hatful of assists, and scored a great chip in the cup. Full-backs haven't been able to get anywhere near him, and his work-rate has been quality.

Marks also received special praise. “As stand-in captain whilst Max Saunders served his suspension, he's really led by example and essentially won us the game against FC Team B on his own with a stunning brace including a Maradona-esque dribble down the left.”

Hendon B’s Raph Noe was also mentioned by the judges.

Glenthorne B took the honours in Division Three with player-manager Craig Sandford and Dan Lassman honoured after the team registered three wins in the league as well as a big cup shock.

Shirley Park hotshot Saul Conway was commended for his efforts in front of goal.

The top awards in Division Four were shared between leaders Temple Fortune B player-manager Terry Jeffries, who has scored nine goals this season, won the top boss accolade while Josh Dagul is the Player of the Month.

The judging panel also praised the efforts of North London Raiders C manager Oli Shorts following the team's excellent start.
